What This Group Is For
Simply put this group is for talented photographers and teams that share my passion and vision for fashion. Do you love fashion? Are you a "fashion photographer"? Then submit your work here.
How It Works
These shots must be in an editorial format (i.e. they must tell a definite story).
Can You Tell Me What Exactly Full Time Fashion Is Looking For?
What I want is fashion, with a capitol "F". For inspiration you should look at magazines such as;
Vogue
W
Numero
Zinc
Elle
Another Magazine
Purple Magazine
GQ
Allure
Or any other fashion glossy.
What I am not looking for is material similar to what one would find in say Maxim, Source, Vice or any of the so call "lad mags". That stuff isn't fashion, and really isn't photography. If that is what you "shoot", this isn't the group for you.
Alternative fashion is welcomed, but must really be fashion, not you shooting your personal fetish.
1. Name of designer/label of each item in the shot.
2. Name of team members that worked on the image (stylist, hair, makeup).
3. Name of Model and Agency.
While I accept submissions from all over the world, it helps if you are near one of the major fashion markets (i.e. New York, London, Milan, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong etc.), as that will give you access to the best designers and showrooms to pull from. It sure is difficult to arrange a pull of Chanel for someone in the middle of Iowa or Kansas.
Finally, a word on models. I prefer that you adhere to industry standards, as that will make things much easier when pulling samples for the shoots. Use interesting models, preferably from an agency that specializes in fashion.
